Why Hempseed Oil?
Hempseed oil comes from the seeds of the hemp plant, a variety of the Cannabis sativa plant species. Hemp is a cousin of marijuana, but it produces only trace amounts of THC, the compound that causes a high. All Ma'na Organix products are made with oil pressed from the seed of the hemp plant, not the flower, so our hempseed oil products contain no CBD or THC.
What Makes Hempseed Oil Special
Hempseed oil is naturally rich in omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids in a well balanced ratio, along with linoleic acid (sometimes called vitamin F), gamma linolenic acid (GLA), and vitamin E. These are the same kinds of lipids that help keep skin feeling soft and supple, which is why hempseed oil has become such a popular ingredient in natural skin and hair care.
